It is actually a remnant of a cupola ornamentation where the finial once attached to a box, which was crushed too many years prior, when the piece fell off a house in Philadelphia during the razing of the building. The finial depicting a flame stands approximately 15" tall x about 7-8" in diameter and still has some remnants of brown paint. The finial will stand on its own as seen in the picture but does lean slightly because of the rough edges left by the soldered metal, where it was broken of the rest of the piece. The flame or fire element is seen as a symbol of love, desire, honesty, anger, power, strength, assertiveness, light, and energy. It's a nice piece to display anywhere.
